This sermon compares us to the Israel who rejected God for an earthly king. Earthly gain was their focus, but it came with a cost. Those of us today who are apart of the New Covenant of Christ are called to make the same choice between two masters. Matthew 6:19-24 gives us an opportunity to not repeat history.
